Hello, i have recently installed my PCIII to my 749 Dark, and although it seems to run a LOT better, i.e no longer backfires/runs rich. i Seem to get problems with starting the bike up first thing in the morning... never used to do that before the PCIII. here is the two problems i get, so either the bike wont start untill i try it a good 3-4 times. or it will start first time, but run on one cylinder for a few minutes, and then there will be a lot of smoke, (smells like petrol and oil mixed) and then both cylinder will kick in and works perfectly fine from there on.... i have installed the 715-002 map from PCIII official site. and its the one for "Advanced Map, 2003-2006 Ducati 749 Remus Slip-on exhaust, stock or aftermarket airfilters." and i run on stock air filters. BUT with a GPR Deeptone slip-on, i know its not remus but its still free flowing un baffled. so it was the closes map... unless someone out there has a better map? any help would be much appreciated. thanks, the closest one to me is in cromarty. do you know how much it will cost? and no i havent played about with other maps.
I know that down here the local dynojet centre charges about £80 for a basic setup but youll have to ring up to see from your dealer i guess. See if any of the other maps make it run better to get you by, you can always put it back to what you had before
When selecting the maps it pays to have a look through the charts as some are seriously leaner or richer in places but generally speaking you shouldnt have too much trouble running the map you have installed. Try a TPS reset and make doubly sure you have a fully charged battery.
