I need help to fit a replacement seat , I believe its not a mega job , but just lately every time touch something or start a job something goes wrong ,lost my nerve and also my specs don't work when I try to look up at things (vari focals ) and as it involves lifting the tank up could do with a little experience on my side .So was wondering if there's anyone in the derby area who might be able to help me out.
It's not that difficult, providing that you have a manual and something to prop the tank up against the frame with. No need to disconnect the fuel lines. Just be careful with the big bolts at the front of the tank as they are easy to put in incorrectly.
Job done ,downloaded some instructions of the multi owners site ,took me 2 hours ,I was amazed by what had to come off before you could lift the tank, I just found some of the bolts hard to get at with my big old hands , the hardest bit was probably actually bolting the new seat on and off ,my short extension piece was to short (50mm long found a 75mm one which was better) and I did'nt quite lift the seat up high enough to start with , I used a small pot I found in the shed (90mm high),not tried the seat yet maybe next weekend,a little blast to Melton and into Lincolnshire.
