Petition GP: race real ducatis or get out!

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by kope999R, Feb 16, 2013.

  1. How utterly insulting can ducati fans become? I'm sickened by that petition:mad:

To merely suggest that the people involved are not passionate about Ducati and about racing, or that they're not working hard enough, is so insulting I'm struggling to find the words to portray my feelings. I would rather never buy a Ducati again than be in any way associated with the twat who started this petition - or the people who sign it...

  2. I agree they should be racing Bevel Twins again

  3. MGP is for racing prototypes, I presume the petitioner wants the factory to focus on WSB? The management presumably saw MGP as the pinnacle of the sport and found the penalising of the WSB team as an issue. That decision is worthy of review, but I don't think a petition is the way to do it.
Most successful businesses are not run on a democratic basis, so whilst they should listen to their customers it's not for the customers to petition the management other than to not buy the product. How are sales doing at the moment? Any info by model?

  4. Usa is the biggest customer..
    Diavel?

  5. I'm willing to bet that Ducati are selling a lot more bikes now than they were in the glorious 916 era, when they won WSB by default. And I'm also willing to bet their current losing streak won't make a blind bit of difference to road bike sales. Racing is no longer a shop floor for road bikes, and hasn't been for quite some time.

  6. Think Ducati seem to be shifting their quota of units, and a strengthening of sales of apparel only help bottom lime. End of the day, its a business; if it isnt successful the top guys have to force change or be changed.

Be great to see Ducati winning MGP races but only because it would mean more than 2 manf were competing, look at WSB and any one of 4 or 5 brands can win. Healthy.

  7. All 3 of them and Castrol R to boot!

  8. You've got to love the "armchair experts". If money were no object it would be great to give the people behind the petition the money and say "you clearly have all the answers, show us all how it's done"

  9. That will be the 2014 new R1 then

Thank God Hailwood did win as ducati would of gone years ago.

  10. Apparently the 848 is by far the best selling Ducati sportsbike ever, and that bike's never been eligible to race in anything other than it's own one-make series...

  11. Gone are the days ducati sold bikes on the back of race success then.

  12. Not ridden one, so I'll reserve judgement, but the owners seem to keep them awhile so they must be okay.

  13. I like the way they ask for a 360 degree turn to go back to a carbon/tubular frame.

    180 degrees might be better!

  14. It's only until they can junk the training wheels.

  15. No surprise 848 is a popular bike, does everything

  16. I couldn't possibly sign a petition like that.

    The English is too poor.

  18. Nor could I. Even if the substance of it made sense, which it does not.
