Thinking of taking out the original fuel cap on the superlight to give it a refurb, any pit falls I need to be aware of ? Gaskets etc ? Cheers Si
you only need one of the allen screws around the perifery to be seized or hex for allen key rounded to turn the job into a pita. Hex is nice and deep though so a good fitting/good quality key ought to do it. Apart from that not too bad - some can be a pain to remove and I hope new filler has a seal with it as they are often cracked and can get finished off just by removing/refitting.
Thanks Chris, wasn't going to get a new one just tart up the old. Think I'll order a new gasket just to be on the safe side. Cheers Si
May be worth ordering both seals, I did yesterday strangle enough and I've just finished spraying mine tonight ready for refit when seals arrive. Used a stainless steel finishing spray for the outer and plastiseal enamel paint for the cap, antique gold.
