so guys im looking to either buy a photochromic visor or the pinlock version , shoei xr anyone tried either of them ??
I got the Photochromic one last summer from race-visors.com. Sent it back as it didn't go very dark only about 20%, not worth the money. Great idea though.
I have a photochromatic Pinlock insert on a shoei neotec as I don’t like the flip down sun thing all that much. As an actual pinlock it doesn’t work great so no good for cold bright mornings, but the tinting works pretty quickly and is just enough for pre 9am and after 6pm low sky sun - with flip down deployed its more than enough for brightest days but airflow restricted. Still have a full tint visor for really bright days but it bridges the gap. Not “£50 effective” but have grown to appreciate it.
Id the pinlock photo chromatic on a XR1100 since it didn't have a drop down visor and never had an issue with it not being dark enough. Its not dark visor dark but its good enough. The antifogging has always worked well too. Ive just moved it to my Shoei GT Air and in combination with the internal visor its probably now dark visor dark. Well worth the money IMO
