Nothing can prepare you with the bellow of a full termi exhaust and a long tunnel. I actually got goosebumps on the way back home powering through that tunnel. Massive grins!! The weather was really crap today, heavy rain showers followed by grey clouds and repeat. I only picked up the bike today and had to head home. I have done about 60 or so miles so far. Put a few parts on this evening but it was late and my battery on my phone was running out. Word of warning. The lower red stitched seat is rubbish. Its actually worse for height than the SP one as it seems to be slightly wider around the thigh area. I have gone back to the OEM SP Narrower seat. Its proper tippy toes for me for a while until I find another solution. Here are a few pics. A video too - Although you really can't hear the bass. Changing the front indies to dark. Completely changed Carbon tank cover Lower but wider seat - it really is debatable if it is lower, def wider. Standard SP seat OEM on right
looks mega. I would be interested to hear what your review it after a few more miles, I am quite tempted too my local dealer seem to be taking there time getting a demo in though.
I bought the lowered seat but its wider and doesn't seem to be lower at all. I believe it is a 35 inch height. I can ride it on tippy toes. It wouldn't bother me for a track bike but as a city commuter its going to be fun! I have no idea if it can be lowered but I might have to look into getting the seat refitted. 890mm (35 in) Ducati Hypermotard Hypermotard SP - Ducati Seat height 890mm (35.0in)
When I tried a Hyper its the getting on/off rather than when riding as it didn't seem massively higher than my 848. Dont know if you can lower the rear ride height then drop the forks the same
Its rideable for sure. I would be screwed though if I had to push the bike backwards on a slight incline though lol.
Here is a couple of camera angles I am going to try with the GoPro HD 3. I have left a couple of mounts on the bike for easy filming. One is on the right hand guard. The other half way up the rear under end. This is 1080 Wide. Hyperpro do lowering kits for a load of different bikes it could be worth a look although being so new they probably do not have anything just yet, might do though. I am normally ok with seat hight I can get on and off the explorer/GS type bikes without to much issue. I will have to call my stealer and hurry them along. It's just my taste but, I wonder if they do an aftermarket can which is a low boy like the OE one. I quite like that. At least the OE exhaust is not some mega bazuka like some bikes these days.
Really interested to see the outcome of that and what any kit comes in at/what difference to handling means
Just been on a nice ride mainly out of town. The bike is so well balanced you really dont need to put your feet down that much. lol I have the full Termi, there was not a surging issue but in my uneducated opinion the fueling did not seem as smooth as the my 2013 Multi in urban mode around town. The bike is spectacular though out of town and oh so flickable.
Nice mate, picked mine up end of April and it is IMHO excellent, first service done and now 1200 miles on clock. Grin factor 10 love the ease of riding it, ride height is great, gives excellent view of the usual muppets in boxes. Love the sound although must get the terminal fitted asap. Draws lots of admiring glances, only downside is that the fuelling seems a little off between 3000 and 4000 but I am told ducati will bring out a chip to sort that? its the best bike I have had, currently also own a 996 which is very much left alone in the garage. Highly recommend it, legs just long enough to touch toes on floor. in race mode you can feel the bike wanting to pop up the front end, its certainly a notable difference to sport and wet mode. Plenty of grunt, easy for overtakes, like the bends...nothing not to like right now...
