and I love it! Collected from Moto Rapido this morning, and my first ride was 107 miles in the pissing rain. Just what I wanted I can confirm that WET mode is great for those conditions. It's very snatch and has terrible throttle response when pulling away, but once moving it was awesome. Still plenty of power for wet M25 overtaking but controlled enough to minimise the flickering of the traction control light. Bike was completely filthy afterwards, which was upsetting but a quick wash soon sorted it. Now to rack up 500 more miles for the first service and akrapovic exhaust. I have to say, this bike sounds truly awesome as it is. Not sure how much nicer it's gonna sound afterwards!
Sweet! Not the nicest day for it, mine got filthy this week riding to work so I'll be out in the morning cleaning it up!
They are a splendid bit of tin, wait till you get the thumpers on it. Satan gargling a throat full of wing nuts.
Top bike bet your chuffed with it fair play and you bought it from the best guys Shame about the weather though
Yo. Got one myself a month or so back. Just another 100 miles to go to hit 600 and have it unleashed. I have a 1199 as well, and if its better than that, its goin to be awesome. Just need some dry days !!! I don't ride in the wet.
They are just great and I see on FB MotoRapido have a barely used 1299S FS and briefly (very) I did think about updating my 1199. Trouble is I never seem to be taken seriously when I go there. Even though have had three Ducatis, two in the last two years. Enjoy
See Julian he ll take you seriously, the other one Andy it always seams like it a inconvenience to him I've found and like you said he doesn't take you seriously
Yeah my brief encounter with Andy gave me the impression that he doesn't like his job very much. Julian is a top guy, very helpful and seems to be passionate about his job and the brand.
TBH Im happy to ride by their door to Snells having given them a few chances now. However, i will try to remember to find Julian if there is a next time. Hope you are enjoying the cleaning
Fair enough. I had some issues with Snells years back on a 1098, hence I chose to use MR. Hyside motorcycles is only 10 miles from me, so I could have used them.
Tbf I had the same feeling with MR but their parts guy is superb! My buddy just got a load of bits from them and they were brill! There is a salesman at snells who I won't even deal with, total idiot! He somehow found it in himself to sell my buddy a scrambler but it was a push, and he still can't manage to say hello if we go in there!
I have to say the Ducati dealers almost swayed me to leave the brand over the years and go back to jap. I DO expect a red carpet service when I'm paying out several thousands of pounds. It's the sales guys job to make the deal, not to give me a take it or leave it attitude. Julian at MR is cool, and we have a good old laugh on the phone each time. Didn't rush the pickup either, taking me through the bike in depth.
Julian is a top bloke who never pushes and spends time to go through everything and myself and another mate where so impressed with the service, when you buy a Ducati you expect a level of service above the jap bikes Andy on the other hand has made two of my mates say they would never buy a Ducati again and they haven't which is a shame
