  1. I thought I'd share this with you just so you know.
When you take a photo with you mobile phone it stores the GPS in fo and various other info about that picture, There are addons for Firefox web browser that tell you where and when that picture was taken.
I'll try to use one of my own pics as an example to show you.

  3. So all I can say is be carful if your posting pictures of your prid and joy from home. Theres roumers that bikers used to follow ppl home from Devild bridge to see where you parked you bike at night, now all they need is to right click and there given the directions.

  4. Good post - sometimes there is just too much "hidden" technology

  5. or just use a normal camera and avoid this altogether

  6. tbh id be more worried about the shite oxford chain holding my bike ,loosely, to that lampost... ;)

far as the other goes dont take pics at yer residence.. :Bag:

  7. This very thing stopped me uploading pictures last week, there is software you can dump all your phone photos into and it will remove all this info in one go

  8. It's not just your smartphone, I have Panasonic and Nikon cameras with built in GPS. Personally, I'm trying not to get to paranoid about the security issue because It's great to see where my pictures were taken on google maps (and other software). On a number of occasions I've taken pics while passing through remote places and hadn't a clue where they were taken until I checked the metadata.

It's good though that this potential security issue has bee brought to our attention so we can make an informed decision.

    Cheers
