Why is it that most blokes seem to refer to a motorbike as female ? Anyway I was in Moto Rapido's this afternoon to pick up my Harris footrest stands and this was in the workshop. Anyone like to hazard a guess as to what she is ? Andy
Yes, you are all correct with the exception of the personal pronoun. She is MINE as of 5 o'clock this afternoon. A chance meeting in the parts department at MRs on Saturday led to an exchange of phone numbers and a request for first refusal which has resulted in me finally acquiring a 2008, 1 owner, 6500 mile 1098R in very nice condition with main Dealer service history. Got a full 70mm system with slash cuts and the bike came with all the original bits that were changed. To say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement and I'm looking forward to my first ride once the service has been completed. Andy

I was taught at school to refer to modes of transportation (esp. ships) with the feminine pronoun. I've always remembered it. It wouldn't make any difference for me to refer to a bike as "it" or "she". I work with an old Royal Navy guy and he's forever looking at pictures of the latest destroyers and submarines; and uttering phrases like "isn't she magnificent" Oh, congratulations on your purchase. She's magnificent.
