Hi! I timed my Ducati with Full exhaust racing Akrapovic system. My timing was 12.2 sec 0-200 km/h... thought it would perform better. Do you guys have better timings?
I know it was a crap start..but it was still within the specs (1-100 km/h -3.4 sec give it or take...) and after that I was hitting the red line most of the time...should I have geared up earlier?
Definitely try again, my car is quicker than that. And my 1260 pp would have disappeared into the distance!!! Get the DWC set correctly and nail it
Trial and error, balance between full throttle, and keeping the wheel down’ish. practice practice practice The v4 should be capable of around 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, which is quick but isn’t amazing. The full decat sports exhaust makes a massive dent in the bank balance and lots more noise but realistically very little difference in real world performance, it’s designed for flat out track use. A decent rider with 130bhp will wipe the floor with an average rider with 180bhp.
Mate, I couldn’t disagree more. It doesn’t make a load more noise and it’s a big improvement for day to day riding. I can’t see what benefit it would bring to track riding, bar the extra power, albeit a modest increase. You got the bit about the bank balance bang on though.
Racers trick for starting: apply front brake, get clutch almost out so it’s creeping on the front brake, lights out dump clutch and go! *poster take no responsibility for any loops that may occur
Track benefit is weight saving and allows harder Reving due to free flow. Having ridden a V4s with the performance exhaust and own one without I found absolutely no benefit whatsoever day to day riding. Whereas the full system on the 1260 and the 1200 made a huge impact. But it does sound nice and scores points down the cafe on a Sunday
I would like to think that the V4 should be faster than 12 ish seconds. The V-Twin Diavel does 0~200 in 9 ish seconds. Not much relative info about the MTS 1260 but should be close. Compared to the Diavel, The Multi gives-up on wheelbase giving the Diavel an edge off the line but makes up in weigh loss and aerodynamics. Get a hole shot device fitted, hasn’t the Multistrada got launch control, seems you haven’t a quick shifter either? More practice……….like this
I forgot to mention I was riding with the topBox on that creates lots of turbulence and shaves of some time too.. in some occasions it creates front end speed wobbling at around 200....
No launch control but has quick shifter...I used it in the occasion. Also carrying top box that dragged a lot of turbulence...
Ok, seemed very long pauses between shifts both my bikes with QS give a gunshot sound as you shift up under hard acceleration.
It has anti wheelie though, so run it to the red line and let it go. If you’re brave enough to trust the electronics!
