To be expected given recent events. The last thing the event needs is another death or risk of one. They probably get the same stick we do when there is a death on the tt. The good thing is they have only just removed the bike class just for next year
Deaths bring bad publicity. Bad publicity means sponsors don't want to be involved. No sponsorship means no event at all.
It's a shame, but that is the truth. Everything is marketing driven nowadays Obviously nobody wants to see a return to the bad old days of fatalities being a regular occurrence but as the signs say "Motorsport is Dangerous", and there is a real danger of it becoming over-sanitised.
