Hi Just picked up a 23 PP with 1800miles on I’ve done maybe 1000miles and had an issue at the weekend. The front bolt for quick shifter came out and left me stranded. I managed to find a bolt on the bike and did a fix. When I got home the rear bolt was also loose. When I checked there dad been red thread lock on. So has the quick shifter been taken off by previous owner. ( can’t think why he would) or do Ducati bolts randomly come out? My question is
I can be wrong (I frequently am!) , but I think it is unlikely that red thread lock was used on a gearshift lever bolt by the factory. High strength is not required there. If any, I would think more likely blue, machine applied to the bolt thread in advance.
