V4 Pikes Peak - Louder Horn?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Martin Dartmouth, Jan 1, 2023.

  1. Collected my new V4 Pikes Peak just before Christmas and the horn is pretty poor. Has anyone done a two-tone horn conversion? Don’t fancy installing a Denali sound bomb because of the wiring modifications and I’ve fitted their sound bomb mini to a couple of bikes before, and didn’t feel that it was a significant improvement.

    Many thanks.

  2. Got a denali sound bomb & paid dealership to do the relay wiring, the originial is still on it.

  3. I’ve got the sound bomb mini, which is plug and play, but haven’t got around to fitting it yet.

  4. Same here, it's a bit of a squeeze to get it under the beak where the oem one is fitted and the bracket needs to be "persuaded" a little ;)

  5. Do you have to take all the panels off, as I couldn’t see how to get at it?

  6. As far as I can see, it’s just the plastic cover under the beak. 3 screws.

  7. Just the 3 screws as gc says but the bolt to free the oem bracket is awkward to access and the shape of the plastic trim means fitting the Denali is a bit of trial and error to get enough clearance.

  8. Sorry to hear about the disappointing horn situation though. Upgrading to a two-tone horn sounds like a smart idea. I get what you mean about avoiding complicated wiring mods—I'm all about keeping things simple too.
