I'm sure this has been covered before, but I'm desperate to do a trackday on my 1299 which I bought last year, but it has full titanium akra system. I have the original akra baffles, but the previous owner said they made no difference and where a pig to remove. Has anyone tried these from Pipe Werx, are they any better, do I have any chance on getting on a UK trackday, or is it just a no go? https://www.pipewerx.co.uk/webshop/...fles-pair-silencers-exhaust-53mm-closed-ends/ I know I have more chance on a Ducati only track day, but I normally do a track day or 2 with my mates who have other makes of bikes.
I had them in my 959 with full system. I got double black flagged at Donny quiet day. Was ok at Silverstone and Mallory though. Much better than the Akra ones. I think I just was unlucky at Donny to be honest.
I have a set of both. I also have access to a dB meter. Neither make much of a difference by comparison to each other but the PW one is marginally quieter. Neither would pass the increasingly more stringent noise criteria imo. As its seems these tests are hit/miss and inconsistent. I use neither of them and have gone euro td. Both sets are an absolute bastard to install/remove. I even mapped my RapidBike Evo with the PW installed so I can swap and reset but decided against UK td's.
I have a set that have been modified by JHP to have a longer baffle. i used them once to test and they eliminate the pop on gear shift quite effectively and the bike sounds a little quieter. but.. stuffing these short underslung cans will only aid to the heat build up, and i think isnt great for the insulation etc. i went with the Termi underseat system in the end as you can extend the cans etc
