I'm exhibiting at the excel this Friday, Saturday & Sunday and stopping in the Travelodge at Stratford, can anyone recommend anywhere to eat & drink around this area ? Thanks
Jump on the Tube at Stratford, Central Line and go into The City. Stratford isn't particularly desirable.
Stayed there last month. Not a lot, really. Head back along the main road towards Stratford station keeping on the opposite side of the road to the travel lodge. About 1/2 - 3/4 mile fom the hotel is the king Eddie pub. Does a few hand pulled beers, reasonable food and friendly staff. the hotel does 'functional' food, if you are knackered and just want to eat and crash for the evening. heading back to maybe tower bridge station is not too many stops, and loads round there. pete
Your better off heading in town a bit. There is not much in Stratford only the biggest shopping centre Westfields which may have stuff in. Stratford itself nothing much there I know as going there tomorrow !
Forgot about Westfield, right by the station. Has a big food court area with lots of franchised food chains (TGIF, nandos, etc).
You are right there isn't much in Stratford, we went up to brick lane and had a fantastic 3 course curry 2 pints of cobra all for £9.00 each....bargain Thanks Steve R for your recommendation will deffo be going back
Westfield Stratford must have at least 50 restaurants of different types. If you can't find something to your taste there, you must be remarkably picky. Restaurants in Stratford City East London - Westfield Stratford City
There's loads in Westfields!!! I had some nice Mexican food . They had Chinese , Indian street food Lebonese , sushi , nearly every country to be honest. Ok the setting is not great it's not resturant but the food I had was very very nice!!! I think the 2nd floor is Subway , Harry Ramsden and all that pony. Go up to the next floor and the food courts great. I fell in love with " pink berry" frozen yoghurt shop / cafe. Fat free mango yoghurt with fresh mango and strawberry
yes we had one of the salt beef biegals on Friday night I thought it tasted more like ham though lol but very nice, then on Saturday we had a curry, definitely recommend brick lane, hope to get back soon
