Plate Thickness?

  1. Anyone know the thickness of the plate in the photo below?? There fitted to the 888 sp5/ some monsters and superlights etc for the floating rear brake(mounts to engine to connect rod). I suspect its ether 8mm or 10mm?? s-l1600.jpg

  2. I think it's 10mm but I can check mine in the morning...

  4. Any luck getting a quick measurement? Ta

  5. The one on my Monster is 12mm but it also has a 2.5mm 'hollowing' machined into it but it is not an original Ducati part so not sure if that helps?

IMHO, if I was making one I would go with 10mm as I'm not sure 8mm is substantial enough? (and for what weight saving?). I certainly wouldn't use one made of carbon fibre as I have seen occasionally on ebay for huge money...

  6. That's perfect mate, Ive ordered some 10mm plate so I can get one made,
    Appreciated.
    Cheers Jack

  7. The one on my SP4 is 10mm and the one on the 851/996 is 8mm. On the 851 and 888 forum, I'm sure someone put up a drawing with the dimensions of the plate.

  8. That's perfect, went for the 10mm because I have to machine the recess in it for the fairing bracket,(I think that's what the recess if for?) I will have a look over on the forum and see what I can find, Thanks for that

  9. Took a while but I found it in end, For anyone else that may be interested
