Has anyone experienced a problem with worn bush/mounting where the rear shock attaches to the frame? Is this a simple job to replace?
I am just doing the same myself. Not sure if I had any play I am just refurbing it as part of a full reno. Have a look at something i posted previous hope it helps. If the link does not work look in technical under 900ss showa gd022 rear shock stuff. http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f41/900ss-showa-gd022-rear-shock-stuff-2605/ Cheers Gaz.
it does seem to be fairly common after around 20,000 miles. I can't speak for all versions as i know they vary. It's a typical rose joint with two top-hat sleeves that need removing/retaining. The joint itself can be a slide fit held in place by a 'C' clip of sorts, but have also seen peining used as a method typically three/120 deg apart. EDIT Well done Gaz - was thinking to try and find your post!
had to special order mine today from local supplier Essex Bearings IKO SB12 £12.15 each, by the way use of feeler gauge absolutely inspired, thanks.
mine has a little play, picked up as an advisory in the last three MOT's. I'll tackle it this winter....
