Just doing the belts on a 998, all good, just want to check something: I’m setting the frequency using the gates carbon app and plucking the belts. Horizontal cylinder is in the home TDC and I have set the tension spot-on. Now, do I need to put the vertical cylinder at TDC to set the vertical belt tension correctly, or can I set it where it is with horizontal at TDC?
TDC with all valves closed so there is no load on the belt from the closing springs. From the timing position rotate the engine 270 Deg forward, anticlockwise looking from the alternator side.
