Does anyone know if it’s been done? I’m thinking Aprilia RSV type mirror finish but might be difficult given the fact the cast has texture.
It can be quite a lot of work and then you have to keep it polished unless you lacquer it. Personally, it's not something that I would do apart from removing some originality from the bike.
There was me thinking French people knew about style.... Edit - bollocks, Sunday morning memory - thought the OP was French! Apologies to anyone I may have disrespected by calling them French.
Its not so difficult if you have (or buy) a £40 ginder and put polishing wheels on it. You need at least 300w or you'll get nowhere... Start off with wet and dry sand paper though emery cloth tape wrapped around and pulled from the ends will also make a fast impression. A custom look would be good if you do it well. A smooth surface then sprayed would also be something different.
He needs some Doc Martens and a ripped t.shirt, plus toss that bloody book away he keeps carry throughout europe on the trains.
Are you time travelling to the late eighties/nineties, if not don’t bother unless you like polishing more than riding or you get it lacquered. Alternatively if you’re lacquering anyway Chrome paint………
Not French, I’m originally Portuguese! No points for guessing who I’m supporting in the World Cup The polished swingarm was a thought to move away from the original sparse looking one as it looks a bit lost in dark grey. From the posts it looks more trouble than it’s worth! On the other hand I am seriously considering getting the OEM axial callipers cerakoted in titanium with the Brembo bit done it red to match off the shelf M4s. Why not do radial conversion I hear you say….because the lower fork brackets are impossible to find and axial callipers look so late 90s and early 2000s
Interesting little fact, the flag on the avatar ties in directly to the country you last logged in from! I'm travelling back and forth for work....and also to smuggle nice parts for the 999
