1299 Polishing For Polishing Sake

  1. So, a month of ownership and a mere 48 miles on the clock. Weather has been 'extraordinarily warm for this time of year' its still fecking damp and shitty though. And I am a dry road biker. So tonight, to reacquaint myself with my purchase, I polished the polish, cleaned the already clean and buffed the already buffed. Sat back and simply stared at a wonderfully perfect 1299s on its paddock stands. I played with the dash and then sat back some more................. well, it wasn't going to polish itself.

    Roll the fuck on spring..........

  2. I've ridden mine every day this week mate, get out on her, 2 of the evenings it's been 13 degrees and dry sections of road and it's been a real nice ride home

  4. Watch what you polish / wax it with. The finish is v soft and scratches / swirls v easily.

  5. That is paint finish in general on recent motors. The wife has a new cooper s and that swirls so easily. And the 1299 as you rightly say is a little fragile.
My 1997 916 had the most solid paintwork ever.................apparently its progress.....my arse. Right, may go and check for swirls, and look at it a little more.

Saturday is looking good down here on the south coast.
