News story today about Putin's favourite bike gang not being allowed into Poland on their WW2 commemorative ride-out. And of course that photo of Putin on his trike again. I googled pics of Putin on a bike, but there aren't any - only of him on the trike. So it seems pretty obvious to me that Putin doesn't actually know how to ride a bike. It was just a bad-ass publicity shot. Which got me wondering: which politicians in the world do actually know how to ride a bike, and which of them ever do? The last person I remember mentioned was Hazel Blears - hardly a top-ranking one. Anyone got any ideas?
I suspect the self-preservation instincts of your average politician tend to keep them away from nasty, dangerous motorcycles.
Must have been after she allegedly scammed her expenses........... BTW........Since when did hamsters wear leather jackets? And here's another MP....Liz Lynne: And this one might be Theresa May.......... (Because it isn't John Prescott........)
Vaclav Havel was President of Czechoslovakia then the Czech Republic 1989-2003. During a State Visit to the USA he was being driven through Washington DC in the Presidential limousine, accompanying President Bill Clinton. Noticing the police outriders on Harley-Davidsons, President Havel mentioned that he was a biker, that he had always wanted to try a Harley, but he had never had the chance. President Clinton summoned over one of the police riders and ordered him to hand over his bike to President Havel. So the State Visit procession continued with President Havel on one of the bikes instead of in the limo.
Lord Strathcarron was the leader of the all-party parliamentary motorcycle committee, and rode a maxi-scooter, as I recall. And if I'm not mistaken that same role was taken up by serial twat Lembit Opik, who rides a Cheeky Girl.
FYI his rare Cheeky Girl was one of a pair of specially imported adventure bikes that had several riding modes but he soon tired of it.
If you mean Che Guevara, at one time I owned and rode a Norton ES2 500 single not dissimilar to Che's. Just saying.
Not a bike but David Steel competed in the Classic Monte Carlo rally in the 1990s in a 3.5 Rover coupe
