I haven’t officially advertised it yet but thought I’d put it on here first. Even though this is a Ducati forum I know there are a few Porsche enthusiasts amongst us and if nothing else I know I’ll receive an honest if brutal response. Porsche 911 (997.1) Carrera 4S Wide body 2005 55 (2006 model) 3.8 flat six All wheel drive 50,500 miles 2 previous owners Full service history MOT Oct 2021 Tiptronic (paddles) Basalt black / black leather Full electric, memory heated seats Sports Chrono package with sport mode PASM Porsche active suspension management Electric retracting spoiler Park assist BOSE sound system Sat Nav DEPO LED lights upgrade (all originals included) Zunsport radiator grills In excellent condition inside and out. Just been serviced and MOT’d. Meticulously maintained from new. Comes with an extensive file of paperwork documenting all work carried out. The car is up to date with age related maintenance and was assessed when serviced and given a clean bill of health with no pending work required. Standard car apart from the lights and the upgraded paddle shift steering wheel taken from a 997 GTS, it’s correctly programmed and gives a better gear changing experience than the standard button arrangement. Anyone who knows these cars will have heard of the IMS and bore scoring issues associated with the 997.1. This car is the 2006 model which was fitted with the stronger bearing. However the engine has been removed and rebuilt with upgraded sleeves after bore scoring was detected in 2016 at 44,000 miles. A new IMS bearing was fitted at the same time (all receipts present) This gives full piece of mind that the engine is now bulletproof and won’t require any work for many years. In summary it’s a well looked after and maintained car that has been enthusiast owned from new, that is an exciting powerful car to drive with amazing razor sharp handling and sounds great! Any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks Number plate will revert from 7470 N back to KX55GHG. £26,995
Another flash rentboy with shitty gumboots on that overcharges his clients................lovely i'm only jealous,
I see you have had the IMS bearing replaced. I'm presently tying to sell my my Mk1 GT3 kitted 996 and am sick to death of enquires from internet "experts" offering me 20p and a family pack of Wotsits for the car, because apparently that's all it is worth as the engine will definitely blow up the next time I start it as I haven't had the IMS done. FYI - my Porsche specialist told me not to bother as mine is an early car, it's done 120k+ miles so if it was going to go pop it would have dine so already, there's no point spending 20% of the value of the car to avoid a problem that is almost certainly not going to happen and if it does, he said he'd rebuild the engine for £4k. As my patience has about the same breaking strain as a stale Kit Kat I have had to prepare a standard copy/paste response to such people so I envy you not having to do that. GLWS
You can rest at ease because thanks to its racing intentions, the GT3’s motor doesn’t suffer from IMS bearing failures like its M96 and M97 cousins. While the engine still uses an intermediate shaft to drive the camshafts, the oil pumps are driven directly by the crank. What’s more, the GT1-derived block has a different oil gallery design that ensures the IMS bearing remains lubricated at all times. https://www.total911.com/technology-explained-mezger-engine/ Suggest you get some different “Porsche specialists”
You may be right, but he thinks he does (See post above my reply) “I'm presently tying to sell my my Mk1 GT3“
GT3 or not, at north of 120k miles it’s passed the engine test I’d say. A great daily with nothing to lose High end cars- mileage and value are directly linked. It’s a vicious circle Drive and enjoy it- you take a bath. Or just look at it in your garage Like having a super model girlfriend you can’t shag...
Motorhome Bodywork Bodge Advice It's parked on a narrow road which is used as a bit of a rat run and someone clipped the back of it but needless to say didn't leave their details. I also smashed the front spoiler in the summer when a wheel went into a deep pothole on a hippy commune in Wales which had similar levels of infrastructure to a refugee camp. Thankfully this year I've had all my vehicular bumps and scrapes on 4 wheels rather than 2 though, so I shouldn't complain.
I’ve seen your Porsche advertised. It looks like a tidy car. I’m not looking forward to advertising mine. It’s been a while since I sold a vehicle but remember well the nightmare it becomes! I’ve never part exchanged a car or bike in my life but it’s something that I may have to consider as these sort of cars attract the worst of the worst in time wasters. Problem is I can’t bear the thought of letting it go at trade price just so a dealer can make a good few grand on it. I understand they have to make a living but it’s at the loss of the PX’er, especially with my car as it’s over maintained and needs no prior sales preparation.
