Possible Ecu Brick

  1. I have an '04 MTS1000. I flashed a DP tune on it and saw that it did not run right so I reflashed my original dump using the IAW5xWriter like I did minutes before for the DP tune. Now my bike doesn't work... at all... When I turn the key all I see is the dash turning on as normal but a relay turns on and off constantly (you can hear both the relay and the fuel pump turning on and off) and can't even connect my ecu to my laptop. My dash shows an 37.3 and 38.0 error. So I'm guessing I bricked it? Anyone that has experienced something similar?

  2. 1. Makes sure you have connected the little black flylead under one of the ECU fixing bolts.

    2. Connect the Fiat adaptor to the diagnostic port. Connect the black fly lead to a good earth. See if the bike will start and MIL turns off. If it does then you have inverted the polarity of the Fiat adaptor fly leads. Solution is to run a link wire from what would be the middle wire of the 3 way diagnostic connector to earth or the battery negative.

  3. And what about the clicking relays? The moment I turn the key a relay starts clicking non stop. I left the key on for maybe 30 seconds and the relay left a burn mark on my hand when I touched it.

  4. Also I did not get any errors when I flashed my original .bin file. Would that be the case if I inverted the polarity when I flashed it?

  5. What type of ECU do you have. IAW59M? IAW5AM? What hardware value HW010, HW610, HW103?
What file size map file are you flashing? 256kb or 321kb?

  6. IAW5AM HW103 320kb

  7. Was the DP map you flashed HW103 as well?

  8. I'll go and take a video of what it does when I turn the key

  9. What do you mean by "1. Makes sure you have connected the little black flylead under one of the ECU fixing bolts." The diagnostic tool black fly lead?

  10. On the wiring loom is a small black fly lead. It goes under one of the ECU bolts.

  11. https://streamable.com/c0ljs5 - Video of the clicking (Don't mid the flashing red and green light near the ecu. It's the quickshifter shitting itself because it turns on and off with every click)

  13. Will do and keep you updated tomorrow

  14. Well I charged my battery and I still have the same issue, clicking non stop. Even tried my car battery which is brand new and fully charged.

  15. I also tried adding a ground wire to the middle wire of the 3 pin connector. Didn't help

  16. It may be your coil/injector/pump relay has failed. These are a £3 part and are prone to water ingress and verdigris. Available off ebay, search four pin micro relay.

  17. Is it the clicking relay I'm showing in the video?

  18. Okay I'll order one. In the meantime will I hurt anything if I jump the connection myself instead of this relay?
