So having just had the 15,000 mile (expensive) service done at 14,900 miles why am I still getting a warning that it needs a desmo service in 100 miles!!! Why can't they just reset this when they do the service? I've got a new set of clocks coming, will this mean I will have to get the 600 mile service reset done as well?
1 - Because they didn't knock the light/spanner icon off. 2 - Yes. 3 - I've got this to look forward to re new clocks/service/odometer sync. P.S. Later model Mutleys can have their mileage put across to new dash.
I believe that they can't reset the service indicator until after the target mileage (15,000 in your case). Once you have crossed the 15k threshold you need to take it back in to see them and they then quickly reset it. I'm in the process of doing exactly the same for my 7500 mile service. Spoken with my dealer this afternoon and will be going in to have it reset next week. 15 min job apparently.
That's very true! Had my 7500 mile service done at 7200, then had to take it back to reset it once I hit 7500! Not the best software Ducati have come outwith...
Absolutely disgraceful service, it's truly shocking and very upsetting to read, how could they allow this to happen. I think it might helpful to your fellow forum members if you would considered naming and shaming this appalling dealership
It may have been a better idea to have waited until the clocks had arrived and had them fitted at the same time, sure dealer would have then removed 600 mile warning for you. Well that's the way I have done it.
i don't think it is up to the dealer re the light, just the way the Ducati electronic magicians have set it up. My dealer told me to come for the first service after 600 to avoid this fiasco. Common sense from the dealer!
It's a bit crazy when the bike is nagging you to book a service for 500 miles! Italian electronics I guess! The same thing happened on the last service, I suppose as long as you don't then get accused of voiding the warranty it's not an issue. They ordered the clocks once they had inspected them (Of course since then they have been perfect!) The steering lock is still being temperamental and they couldn't find a fault, sometimes it works other times it doesn't... Interested to know they can transfer the milage on newer models, I wonder why they can't fit these clocks instead?
