Potential Hyper Owner Seeking Some Advice -

  1. Hi all, Im looking to dive in and become a Hyper owner. Decided that I want an 1100 rather than a 796 or 821 so looking at the 1100 evo or previous model. Im not keen on the single sided exhaust mod, nothing wrong with it but for me I have always liked the twin pipes under the seat look so would be looking for the standard exhaust or ideally the twin termi slip on which looks sweet. Are the origanal versions good to go for or is it better to stump up the extra cash and get an Evo? In additon to this I have been trying to find some guidance on anything specific to look for when buying a used Hyper (original or evo) in additon to the normal checks? Many thanks :upyeah:

  2. If you can get an evo at a good price I'd say yes but I'm biased I guess as I have one. Reasons for me were lighter wheels and I liked the paintwork - and 1100 air cooled - less to go wrong with my toy and I believe there's no substitute for size. The evo has a widget for recording data on a usb stick also if you are into that plus uprated suspension, .... As for buying tips I'm not much use as mine was ostensibly new when I got it.

I was with you on the twin under seat pipes when I bought mine - it was a key factor as I loved the look. That said I've just stuck on a single termi and think it looks much better so opinions change. One opinion hasn't though - best bike I've ever owned:).

  3. Hi Hyper,

I have a 1100 evo non sp, I love it, though in std trim was disappointing, power & especially part throttle fuelling, since de-cating, open airbox & remap, it is now as I like, std silencers still (keep neighbours sweet @06:30 am), done 10k miles since march 2013 when I bought new, i use it as a do-it-all bike & commute daily, no plans to change it, oh I have had air cooled dukes since 1985... The hyper evo is by far the best.
Go for it & look forward to seeing you back here soon.

  4. I have an 1100 EVO and I love it. I have had many many bikes over the 30 odd years since I passed my test. This is BY FAR the most fun I have had on a road bike.
I bought mine new (Pre registered) last year and the only mods I have done were to stick a decent set of tyres on it and fit Zard exhaust (underseat). It looks good (IMO), sounds fantastic, and I can honestly say that it has improved performance of the bike.
Not sure what I will get next as this does everything I want now? I no longer go touring, but, when the weather allows, I have a couple of hundred mile blast around the country roads near to where I live. It handles better than a lot of other bikes and is surprisingly comfortable. Only downside is the lack of protection from the elements. I soon learned to live with that though, as the pleasure far out weighs the pain. Good luck in finding one :)

  5. Had a tricked up 1100s a couple of years ago. Sold it and got an rsv4. Wife let me get another bike....hot an 1100evo. The only bike in my life I've bought a second one of.
