Looking to get a big bike again this year after the last one (S1000RR gen3) grew legs. I'm currently in the process of sorting out a decent garage and in the meantime I have realised that my budget now is considerably better than it was. Got a good problem in going from what bike can I afford, to which bike to I want (well, except the Superleggera, don't have that much budget). Anyway, got my eye on either the gen 4 BMW or the sublime V4R (yeah, budget is really good). I asked a friend who happens to own more than his fair share of Dukes and he recommended to join this forum. So if anyone has any experience of the V4R, perhaps convince me why I should choose the Ducati over the BMW. I'm located in West London so if you can recommend dealers/service that would also be helpful.
Welcome aboard Dave! I can’t comment on the choice of bike having not ridden either, but try a test ride (When allowable) and buy the one you prefer sounded like good advice. What I would recommend though is buying a first generation monster or SS too for context and contrast. You may find you prefer the character when going a bit slower?
He forget to tell you about posting pics of your bins It’s a newbie rule we like them and it makes me happy You look rough in your avatar Welcome into our mad house
Welcome O fortunate budget one I'd ask why you want a bike that you will never truly expereince 100% of it on the roads and are more suited to tracks than road. True, they only go as fast as you twist the throttle but my question is, what is your intended use, wishes and expectations of such a healthy budget? I ask because we have quite a few track riders in here and they hopefully will give you their experience of road/track or both on the bikes you've mentioned Enjoy the forum, and lucky you on the budget. Oh, and the bins,
Hi and welcome. Not ridden a v4r but I did own a V4s. Tested the BMW rr for a few hours. Amazing bike, so easy to use. Kept the Duke because, well, test them both and you will see.
If you buy the Ducati you'll have a smile every mile going down the road for sure, welcome aboard whatever one you select.
