Hi All, I've got a tank lock bag from Givi that I've happily been using on my 1260S for years. I've just put a deposit down on a V4 PP and seen that the fitting ring isn't available on the list of accessories on the configurator - whereas it is on all the other V4 MTS'. Does anyone know why this is? I can only think it's either: 1) an omission in the configurator 2) the PP's closer bars means they fowl on the bag and so they don't consider them compatible If the latter, I'll be very upset as I love that bag! Anyway, I'd be interested to know any of you know. Even if it is the latter, I'll probably fit the ring anyway and try it for myself (I'm assuming the PP has exactly the same fitment on the fuel cap as the other V4 bikes).
It's not, since it's bike specific. The bag comes with the upper ring (the bit that the bag fits to), but the actual bike side metal ring is sold separately.
I suspect that Givi have yet to get access to the V4PP to confirm if their V4 Multistrada ring is compatible. Nothing more sinister than that. Andy
I'm pretty sure the rings are manufacturer specific rather than bike specific. i.e. The Ducati ring should fit any Ducati. My SW Motec ring i had on my 1200DVT fits my V4S with no issues.
You were right, the tanklock ring is now available on the official Ducati configurator for the PP. Saves me buying a new bag!
