I am interested in the state of the Yamaha engine. I believe they are flogging a dead horse by sticking with an IL4.
I think Yamaha will quit MotoGP within 3 years. They haven't started developing a V4, which will take 3 years, and they are not going to be able to challenge consistently with an IL4. Shame.. That said Porimao will be okay for them if they have the handling back to it's best, as it seemed to be the slow corners onto fast straights where they just get murdered normally.
It will be dull, no one will be going full chat until the last hour of the weekend, and FQ + MM wont look very happy leaving the circuit at the end of it. I think Maverick will do well too, creating an illusion that hes "back" and ready to fight for the title again.
Martin, Bezzecchi to top time sheets. Ducati 1,2,3,4,5,6! Aprilia 7th,8th Honda still unridable. Yamaha, going nowhere with that engine.
I think Luca Marini will be the surprise package this season, VR is expecting big improvement from both his riders.
No real surprises yet, top 19 riders all within a second of Marini. https://www.crash.net/motogp/results/1021931/1/portimao-motogp-test-results-day-1-saturday-230pm
Not surprised to see Marini top, likewise with Vinales, but Alex Marquez performance is a surprise and I would have expected more from.A Espargaro.
Pecco’s just knocked .6 of a second off his own lap record. Marquez still struggling, half a second behind his own team mate.
60 odd laps for Miller and plum last. ouch. Final day times… https://www.crash.net/motogp/results/1021953/1/portimao-motogp-test-results-day-2-sunday Few surprises?
Yamaha still slowest top speed in top 12 Nothing to suggest Bagnaia is anything but the strong favourite
Miller 17th, but I reckon when he gets to grips with the KTM, he'll be podium contender, perhaps the last half of the season.
