I know I need to do it properly. I know how to set it. And I know the springs will be too soft...but.... on the multi, half a turn per 15kg is in the ballpark fir the right settings on the front. Yes, it’s skyhook so the comp/rebound is different but was wondering if 1299 base model would be similar. I’ve found there are 10 (and a bit) full turns in to hard from fully out. Anyone know what the multi is? I’ve set on that basis, so I’ll see when I try it. Anyone fancy checking for me? And at some point when I can get a second pair of hands I’ll do it properly and, at fork service time, get the spring and maybe valuing done.
I've seen this used in a video and looked a good solution for when having to set sag on your own or when you don't trust the second persons tape measure abilities! DRC Single Person Sag Checker Suspension Tool from Dirtbikebitz But if it helps at all to cheat it for now, I had mine setup by Steve Jordan last year, I'm about 84kg without gear and have nine rings showing on the rear and he set at four turns in on the front. Front is spot on for my road riding, but I needed two extra turns when on track last year but that was at an ARD braking from an indicated 180mph+ (according to the laptimer) at the end of the runway
Cheers for that, I’ll have a watch. I’ve set my front at 6 turns in, I’m nearly 50% heavier, and will add some other comp/reb settings I found. Not done rear yet, but that’s ok as I’ll set at 15mm static and see how that goes
Yeah I find the front is easier to get right especially if you add a cable tie and monitor travel. One thing to bear in mind is the bottom out of the fork is actually significantly up from the actual bottom of the fork. I'm pretty sure it's 120mm travel on the front, measured from fully extended and marked with a sharpie so I know where bottom out truly is
