Hi, new to the Ducati family after years of owning Japanese sports and naked bikes, oh and a KTM 990 Superduke. Loving the Panigale V2! Still running in - done 500miles so looking forward to being able to use it properly after 1st service. I chose the v2 because it reminded me of the Honda SP1 l had, a bike I loved but unfortunately had stolen. Hopefully we will have a few sunny autumn days in the East of England so I get out and enjoy it befor winter sets in.
It’s a nice sunny day here today so hopefully it is with you so you can get out riding. Don’t forget we like pictures especially your bins it keeps me happy Welcome into our mad house
Welcome to the forum! You claim your V2 is pretty, but we will need pics to confirm that for ourselves Where in the East of England are you? I'm in Newmarket.
Thanks for your welcome. Got 70 miles in today Norwich to Fakenham, Holt then back to Norwich - roads not the best!
Just a word about running in - I also took my new V2 in for its 1st service - couldn’t wait to open it up a little after riding around frustratingly at max 6k. On rechecking the manual you’re advised to keep it below 7k until 2500km/1500m. I’m currently at 1350m!
Yes I’ve read that. I’d like to know how many riders stick to it though. I’ve increased the revs a little toward the end of initial running in period and discovered a Rev limiter at 8000 rpm (only apparent on open throttle from about 3000revs in 3rd or 4th gear). I wasn’t aware of this and there is no mention in the manual. I posted the question on Ducati.com forum and was quickly answered with the reply that the Rev limiter will be taken off after 1st service. Anyone else experienced this?
yep standard practice and even the red line changes once had the service. Presume you got the bike from Tony @ Seastar? they're delivering my streetfighter back tomorrow after replacing whole ABS unit under warranty. hopefully get a few more days out before weather gets really shit.........or more shit
