Although I sometime's cringe at the utter drivel that people post on here (an other forums) today the forum came into its own. The 1098's been playing up showing an immobiliser fault, which I think I've sorted with a new receiver ring. Then today it just wouldn't start, quick check and it was showing an injector fault. Quick search on here and find a thread, quick read and a clean of the two relays ( injector and fan) and good as new. Cheers. Oh and whats the best sized tyres for my 1098?
Rather than clean them, get the relays replaced. They are only about £2 off ebay. (12v 4 pin micro relays)
Do you know how bloody hard it was to get them out, clean them and put them back? My hands are like shovels and theres no bloody room behind the loom and water pipes. Yeh I'll get a pair ordered ASAP. Cheers
Hi chum how's Rory ? I've run both 180/55 & 190/55's On both my 1098's My tyre mate who does club races Reckons the 180 turns in quicker which I agree. But he reckons you can get the power down quicker out the corners with a 190 ?!?!
It's OK I don't mind getting told now and again I'm full of shit and talk a load if bollocks....I get told that regularly by the wife all the time....
Bloody hilarious mate, I took it round Spa Francachomps the other week, what a laugh. The idea of that little thing getting anywhere near 120 MPH staggers me. Flat out I managed to get just under 80 out of it. Cheers for the tyre advice mate, I should have put the smiley for 'I'm taking the piss' behind my tyre question I suppose. Did you manage to get rid of the Bantam and your 1098?
Yes chum Andy bought the Bantam ... But I haven't heard from him since ??? The first guy to see the 1098 bought it Spa eh bet that what a laugh ! How did u clock yr Speed ? With a app ?
Ran it with my cycling Garmin sat nav masking taped to the yoke. Was hilarious, there was a 600cc minimum limit on the circuit but the guy I was staying with knew the track day organiser so sorted it out for me. Good news on the 1098, I knew it would sell as it was immaculate, even if it had a scratched fairing at some time. Great news.
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it the I'm sure the guy I got it off said It would do 120 ! Sounds like u had a good laugh
