Not sure if I have posted this on here before, but thought some of you might be interested in my forthcoming project. More details here: www.1199sps.co.uk
New parts just arrived. Details in Issue 02 of the newsletter out soon, then released on the website at a later date.
Looks like a fair bit of work has started already. The website is impressive. Have you anything in mind that is going to look or make it stand out... Any ideas on colour scheme ? Good luck with the project.
Colour scheme will be finalized in the new year. I have someone working on rendering different designs, then it is a case of whittling the choices down to one I like. Basically the scheme will follow the guidelines of the SPS livery but hopefully with a modern twist and taking into account the Panigale's new lines. There are one or two features that will be unique to this project. An example being the billet aluminium swing arm / footrest support brackets. I am in consultation with an engineering company, to see how viable this is and if so, whether or not other Panigale owners would be interested in such a product. At present I am amassing as many parts as possible, to alleviate the wait once the project starts in earnest in April next year.
Website recently updated with new video options, lots of new parts, plus an all new carousel feature on the home page. Issue 03 of the newsletter was sent out last week. I'm up to 306 subscribers so far !! If you want to join them, details are on the website. Regards Topo
Lots of work carried out since I last posted. Some of the more notable things included the total stripdown of the bike to the engine, radiators thermal coated, swingarm and airbox had specialist custom work done to them, all fasteners save for the engine changed out for stainless or titanium items, full Akrapovic exhaust system, mapping by MR, custom metal coating of alloy forged castings, numerous CDT carbon parts ordered and more besides, plus several changes to the website. More work ahead including the SPS custom paintwork which is scheduled for later in the year. For all the latest info head over to the website or check on the FB or Twitter feeds. Here is one of the parts I was working on yesterday as I wait for the airbox and swingarm to come back from having their bushes, seals and bearings refitted, and which will be ready later this week.
Forgot to mention that I am now up to 408 subscribers! One lucky person from the next 92 people to subscribe, will win the competition currently running on the website.
Making good ground with the electrical work on the project, though I have to admit the Panigale is by far and away one of the most awkward bikes to wire up and it is essential you follow the workshop manual to ensure the routeing of all the wires and various main and subsidiary branches of the wiring loom is strictly followed else it just won't go back together as intended.
All the wiring is now complete save for the connections to the fuel tank and the rear light cluster. Quite a job, as was bleeding the ABS brake system. Not a job if you are easily frustrated! Also got around to fitting the new front end (wheel and discs). Here's a couple of pics from the website.
Can I ask how much those carbon side panels that hold the electronics and fairings mounts cost? I did look on CDT website but no price was listed.
