Started taking bits off at start of lockdown to get to some flaky engine paint and never really stopped. Finished a while back but life yet again got in the way. Only ridden 100 miles but it was a fantastic 100 miles and that’s what counts. Removed engine, found oil leak on vertical cylinder. Painted engine by hand. Side cases powder coated, valve covers powder coated. Valves cleaned and lapped, all valve clearances now correct. Getting shims during lockdown was a ball ache. Exact fit belts fitted. Hand polished all pipes. Most fasteners replated at local place. All gaskets and O rings replaced. Ohlins shock serviced, spring powder coated. TPS reset, throttle bodies balanced. All bodywork repainted by dream machine. She looks and rides beautiful.
Wow - very sweet! Question: what colour should the wheels be of a stock 2002 998 Biposto - black or grey? Also - what sort of price would be reasonable for one with less than 10k, one owner and full S/H? Cheers RR.
