Decided on something different to my default MTS1000/1100 for a winter project - An S2R800. Did all the usual engine refurb/set-up, fork upgrade, wheel paint and spit'n'polish work etc... Then I thought why not have a go at vinyl wrap on the tank and small panels! Holy cow! I started small in what turned into a week long tussle leaving the main bout with "The Tank" to the last. Why did I choose stuff with lines that needed to be kept straight and make sense! Thinking back on it makes me sweat. It did turn out pretty good for a first go but probably the last as well. The 3M wrap I chose to use is pretty good stuff, still with it's limits though. With the fuelling sorted they are super smooth these smallish 800s and a quiet clutch for a change is nice. Required a new headlight but couldn't afford one of the original 8" Bosch ones so tried an LED and umm suits it think, then with that I tried LED indicators too and yeah. Needs a new owner now.... I still have the rebuilt 1000DS motor available too. 2005 S2R800 was my first motorcycle, back in 2008. I learned how to ride on that bike--then quickly moved into 1098/RC51/Daytona 675R/R1 and now 1199S. All great bikes!
