It's not a "proper petition" though because the person who write it did not even get the terminology right - it's Vehicle Tax, not Road Tax. I'm sure any change in this area would have the potential to backfire on motorcyclists (restrictions on maximum CO2 output etc) and there's always going to be a hige population of older vehicles where the CO2 figures don't exist (not authoritative ones). The real nonsense is that we still have this as a separate tax - if it were really anything to do with CO2 emissions it would have been merged into fuel duty years ago. It's mad that some cars cost £20, or nothing even, and others cost £400 or more. It does keep a load of people in Swansea employed though I guess!
If you're so fucked off by them, ignore them. That's what I do with all the stuff on this MOTORCYCLE forum that I consider trivia.
Does piss me off that my bike cost nearly 4 times more than some cars to tax an I only do about 3k-4k miles a year.
