QD exhaust

  1. Wonder if anyone can feedback on the QD Carbon exhaust. I note there was some "conversations" in 2012 and some early adopters.

Keen to replace the original but, as stated in other threads. need to have a system with some baffling so not "too noisy". Aware the QD system has baffles and can have an ECU tune with the Rexxer system.

  2. Hi Spanish. Great exhaust my friend. 3 removable baffles and I run with all in place. It came in on a trackday at 104 d so loud enough but bearable. Ran it for the first 6 months with all out and its unbelievable. Sounds great but they can hear you in the next county. Quality of finish is spot on although mine did develop a hole in the de cat pipe where a plate is welded on. They were aware of the problem and re designed it and replaced without problems although I'd lost my receipt and they wouldn't play ball until I found it so keep it safe. Easy enough to fit (according to the fitter) but it sits very close to the rear peg hanger and mine has rubbed slightly. All in all delighted with it.

I have same issue, going to get longer bolts and a couple of fat washers to move the foot peg hanger out board a bit more

  4. All very encouraging. Spoke to a guy at Rmoto in Slough who is a UK dealer for QD exhausts and he was helpful. Expensive bit if kit though! How does the carbon finish compare to the titanium? Thanks for your replies.

  5. It's worth getting it sorted by Chris at CJS too. Had mine done yesterday and after a great ride today I'm grinning like a Cheshire Cat. More torque across the range, much smoother at low revs, pulls clean and hard from low down too. Top end is insane but the best bit for me is how "connected" the throttle feels. Mine was running a bit weak but with the throttle bodies balanced, fuel & spark maps sorted for both pots individually it's a revelation.

  6. Mine's been on over a year. No fitting or rubbing issues but I had a problem with the sidestand spring fouling a plate. QD themselves are spectacularly unhelpful if you have an issue and I ended up using a grinder on a £1500 system. Will not buy another system from them but it does sound very good.

  7. Love mine, been on since 2010, and still looks great and sounds fantastic!

  8. Been on mine since new in 2011. Never had a baffle in. You'll be deaf as a post in no time if you don't ride with ear protection :)

Fuelling fine even using lowly FatDucs (remember them :). Glorious noise.

  9. So tempting but so expensive. Presently considering a LeoVince decat with baffles and my Termi shorty. Still thinking about it though!!
