V4 Quadclock Wiring

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Fanous, Jun 26, 2023.

  1. Getting ready for my V4 Rally coming in hot in August, got the quadlock mount to sit above the display.

I'm curious how people wired the quadlock up?
    - Did you use the sat nav connector nearby in the front?
    - Did you stip parts off of the bike and went all the way to the main battery?

The second option is what I have done on my current GS, but that bike is dead simple. Not sure there is fairly easy way to get the cable in to the battery on V4, or even if the satnav juice is sufficient to feed the wireless charger head.

    All insights are welcome.
    Thanks

  2. This might be useful to you.
I have my Zumo wired to the sat nav feed as in the video.

  3. Yes I've seen this, thanks for posting. I can't find any information about what voltage, and amps this supplies. Anyone knows?

  4. no but my QL phone charger (usb type) is wired to that with no problems. Any Nav current draw won’t be that much different to a fast charger.

  5. I’ve wired the Quadlock wireless charger to the Nav terminal and seems to work fine. It is switched so turns on/off with the ignition. I think you might also need the Waterproof 12V to USB Smart Adaptor and wire this to the Ducati Nav cable prep (the white plugs unclip from the Ducati cabling loom, you need to carefully strip the wires back and solder to the Quadlock wiring…)

Alternatively you could plug the Quadlock wireless charger directly into the USB-C socket under the rear passenger seat (which gets wet so not a great option), or get the Waterproof 12V to USB Smart Adaptor and plug into an SAE cable connected directly to the battery.

Irrespective, of how you wire it up make sure you get the Quadlock vibration dampener to ensure you phone camera doesn’t get goosed.

    HTH.

  6. Thanks, I've got the cable and the wireless head that you linked already, also have the mentioned vibration damper.
Did you cut off the eyelets that came with the quadlock cable? I was thinking if there is a non destructive way, so if I ever go to another bike, I could take it with me.

  7. Yes I did. Pretty straightforward to solder/crimp some new eyelets on if every you choose to :upyeah:
