Questions for Ducati

  1. I'm off to Bergamo and Bologna next week.

    On Wednesday, i'm collecting another little race bike and visiting the Bianchi factory and museum - they have motors for pre-war 'moto-gp' bikes there and i'll be indulging in a little bicycle nonsense too!

    Thursday, we're heading south to Modena to visit a reasonably well-known race engineer and then to the Ducati factory and museum.

    The plan is to meet a couple of guys who have been helping me with the little 749R and a couple of other bikes I was looking at earlier this year. One guy is involved with road bikes - marketing I'd guess, the other is involved with WSB bikes - in fact, he'll be busy with the WSB Panigales while I'm there, presumably buried in Corse somewhere.


    So, the reason for this post: do you have questions that you've been pondering for a while? I'll take anything, except moto-gp, anything to do with multistradas and Rossi! I'd like to take a list of ten questions, which may or may not get to be asked over dinner, depending on my memory and the amount of wine I've had : )

  5. Can they introduce wireless charging circuits on to top of the tanks so all accessories that support it just need to be left on the tank (no need for wires) to charge. Like mobile phones in tank bags, cameras, gps units ;) On all bikes except multistrada as those have special pockets for mobiles apparently?!

    Or on more serious note can they build small cc (preferably air cooled), very light sports bike. Replacement for SS.

  7. It will be an 899 and I've heard from a reliable source we'll see it at the end of 2013. The current 848 evo is the last hurrah

  8. But that was last years rumour......the 2012 848 se was supposed to be the 848's swan song before the baby panigale.

    Maybe the 2013 aluminium tank is enough flog the old stock and shift the leftover bits that stopped it happening this year......or will we have a 2014 848 evo se limited edition super deluxe model (read...what can we chuck at it thats left in the DP parts bin)

  11. Ask them if there's any chance they can produce this (in all the colours too):

    You can ask them again why there is no new ST, but they'll only say "There is. The Multistrada and it's amazingly successful so we have no plans to introduce anything else".

    Something is not quite right at the end of the bike rest is good.
