Quick Paddock Stand Question

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by ck_uk, Mar 8, 2014.

  1. Is the SS compatible with bobbins-type rear paddock stands, or does it need to be the cup type which supports under the swingarm?

  2. Any holes and threads visible on the swingarm? If so bobbins if not cups

  3. On both my steel and ally swingarms there is no provision for bobbins.....

    AL

  4. no bobbins unless you have the mounting points welded on as I did.

  5. My Monster has bobbins fitted and so a stand fits easily, however I wanted to loosen the bolt that sits in front of the bobbin (and is covered by the stand) whilst the bike was still on the stand. I find that the same stand supports the bike equally well under the spindle nuts...

  6. And whether you have either type of rear stand.....

....you can't take the swingarm out.......

.....unless you can prop the bike up under the engine which no doubt means having to take the zorst off as well.......not to mention instability until the weight is off the rear end.

.......Which is why I 'invented' my front and rear stands..........that Sev likes taking the p*ss out of....

  7. your stands are truly amaze balls! Al, every self respecting garage should have them.

  8. As many a DD race hase done on alloy swingarms, drill and tap the solid section of the swarmgarm and bolt on a couple of bobbins.

  9. Wot's a 'swarmg'?

  10. Something to hold fire wood together

  11. That's called a tree..........

  12. yeah right, your humour astounds me

  13. It's supposed to............otherwise it's like a blunt pencil...........

    ....No point to it.

  14. More like no lead in your pencil

  15. There's plenty of lead; but mainly 6B......................very soft.
