848 Quill Evo Exhaust

  1. Hi all, newbie here so bear with me...

I've got an '08 which has been fitted with Quill exhaust slip ons and was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with these?

I would like to take the baffles out (they advertise they are removable on this version but the company seem to have disappeared and I think they've gone into administration so can't get hold of them). There seems to be some spot welding that needs to be 'removed' before I can take out the baffles but I'm a bit scared to start 'tapping' or 'smashing' away at them in case I break anything so any advice on how to approach would be massively appreciated.

I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow.

    Cheers all

  2. Seen your pics in the gallery bike looks good. From what i could see of the exhaust, also very nice btw, it looks like theres a little rubber bung on the outside of each can which should be removed to access a grub screw holding baffles in.

  3. Hi mate, sorry totally forgot to mention. I've taken those off and there are no screws holding it in place. My guess is that the previous owner tried but didn't fancy having a crack at smashing the welding :/

They are not to far away from me so will have alook to see if they are still there, I had them a make a can for a CCM a few years back

  5. Thanks Richie!!

I've just managed to get hold of them after 3 days of trying. Apparently that exhaust doesn't have removable baffles and if I try it will likely break the can. Which leads me onto my next question...or needing opinions. I can't afford a termi/akra set up but want a louder exhaust, anyone tried the danmoto setup or have any reservations?

  6. Stay with what you've got they look really good and save up for slash termis
