Did Snett 300 on Monday and got my knee down for the first time  and I went round and did it again on the next lap so it was not a fluke..hehe Was so excited after the first time I nearly ran straight on at the next corner lol. What is also funny is you wait and try for so long and when it does happen what's the first thing you do when you knee touches down?....you lift it straight off the deck Haha
I remember my first time... I was hooning it round a roundabout on my very first 748, it was yellow so not as fast Running along, getting lower and lower, my mates getting more and more bored... Then, SCCCCRRRSCSCCCSRRSRSRCCCCCSRRRRR. Suddenly, shit my self and pull my knee up, bolt upright and celebrate. All is history from then!
I felt the same way in the outfit when my a*se hit the ground for the first time........... ............I decided that if I did it too often, I would stick a slider on my bum. AL
Just out of interest how many of you knee down on the road (not roundabouts)? Happy doing it on track but never feel confident enough to do so on the road as always feel like I would be over committed if anything was round the corner?
Knee down on the road can follow by both knees , hands elbows and back of helmet. Usually in that order.
Well done Jim. Next step is to slide the back out while doing it LMAO. But read the comments well, and don't think it'll make you faster or safer on the road doing it. I think most of us have been hurt showing off at some point.
I have never really tried to do it on the road TBH when I ride on the road its just for the enjoyment of being out, nothing to prove by loosing my licence or getting points. TBH I wasn't really trying to do it on the track well I wasn't thinking about doing it anyway. I was just working on my body position and after a few laps, touchdown
No problem for me on the track (although there is a reticence to try it at very high speeds, like the first corner of the Triple Gauche at Ledenon right at the end of the straight. I have done it occasionally on the road, but I think if I had a better riding style (better hanging off) I'd do it more frequently. I find it impossible to do in 2-piece leathers. Despite the kevlar bits, they still restrict my movement. One-pieces are much stretchier. I don't lean as far on the road either (unsurprisingly). The small chicken strip is my safety margin, in case I misjudge something and have to lean it some more.
