i was listening to Radio 4 (okay, im out of the closet, deal with it), where a guest was commenting on the recent pics of Nigella Lawson (daughter of Lord Lawson of course) and said, "She may well be rich, successful and beautiful, but let me tell you...she's had it tough".... fkn priceless. who are these idiots...probably the same ones who tell us how hard the royal family work for us...
She lost her mother, sister and husband to various forms of cancer, her mother was 48 when she died, her sister in her early thirties. Not exactly a perfect recipe (do you see what I did there?)
i lost my mum to cancer, my aunt, my uncle, my other uncle currently has prostate cancer...my grandad died of cancer, another uncle had Downs Syndrome and died at the age of 35 of a heart attack... this is the cruel circle of life.
Funny thing, comparing this thread to the one about Cheryl Cole. Strange how being a Geordie thug somehow makes you the nation's sweatheart, and yet being the daughter of a cabinet minister and becoming a TV cookery presenter makes you a figure of hate... I lost my mother and a 34 year-old cousin to cancer and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Nigella appears to have made the best of what life has dealt her - and good look to her. As far as I can tell she's never actually done any harm to anyone...
Hard life fer fooks sake....a hard life was one where you involuntarily spent time in the Gulags or extermination camps, and an awful lot of those folks came out and spent useful lives contributing to Society, not living the high life and calling doing a spot of cooking in front of a camera,"work". My mum cooked every day without a camera,on a tight budget, and AFTER a hard days graft. But what do you expect? The media love to stress how their own lead such tough lives.. ...when the harvest fails, they'll be the first boiling in the pot...
All the money in the world is irrelevant when you are the victim of Domestic violence and for the victims life is very hard . for that she deserves our sympathy regardless of her past
I didn't say that they "Cheryl love" or "Nigel hate" was on this thread specifically... And as for where the "thug" comment came from - well, being convicted for assault pretty much shows what sort of person she is.
And, in the interest of fairness and ballance (something the BBC seem to forget on a regular basis) - Yes, her life probably is better than most of ours, but you can't really blame Nigella for something that a Radio 4 "luvvie" said about her. I don't recall her actually compalining herself.
Some people just don't know when they've got it good. On the other hand, maybe off-camera Nigella is intensely annoying? Who knows?
Here is this week's amusing quote... IRB judicial officer Nigel Hampton QC said. “I found that I could not reject as being implausible or improbable Horwill’s explanation that as he was driving forward with his right leg raised he was spun off-balance through the impact of the Lions players entering the ruck from the opposite side.” Watching the videos of the incident on YouTube, I would find Horwill's "defence statement" not just improbable, but, (removed to avoid potential libellous content). as stated by Warren Gatland, even in the days when rucking was allowed (with the argument that "well you shouldn't be on the wrong side of the ruck if you don't want to be stood on!"), the head was always sacrosanct. Alun Wynn Jones may be lucky to have not lost an eye in the incident.
Which Lions player exactly is it that's supposed to have "spun him off balance" ? It appears to me that all the lions players in the ruck are lower than Horwill and would therefore have entered the ruck BEFORE he did... Or have I missed something ?
I find her intensely annoying on-camera. It's only the fact that she's very pretty with nice norks that I would give her house room.
Steve, sounds like you've really been through the mill dude. I hope that there's light at the end of the tunnel, for both you and your children. There is alot to be said about trust
I don't care what they say about Nigella, I'd still hit it Err...when I say 'hit it' I didn't mean....
