Swapping engine over in my track bike from 749 to 999 deep sump. Tried re-fitting R&G crash protectors but the vented cam belt cover is wider than my 749 one and not enough clearance between it and the frame to fit the R&G mounting bracket. Had to refit the 749 non vented vertical cam belt cover and the centre "L" cover to enable fitting of the crash protector. Pretty sure it won't make any difference or be critical, guess the vented one was more a copy from race bikes ???? Any thoughts ??? Pics of the crash bung and 999 vented cover.
You could slim the RG bracket down a bit at the back . Or cut a small piece of the cover to allow it to fit .
