I have always put r&g crash protectors on myself on all my bikes R1 fireblade s1000xe r9t so bought them for my v2 I gave these to rosso corso to fit Jesus I am glad I didn’t do it myself 4. Hours plus later and lots of money I can see the problem on v2 nowhere to put except engine casing but it’s not easy
I made a school boy error when fitting mine to a Triumph Tiger today , installed the left hand one which was a bit of a faf ,but looked great , loosened the right hand engine bolt and then realised they had only sent 1 of 10mms bar for the two bobbins , moral of the story , always check you have all the parts before starting the job , now I have to try and get R&G to send me another bar .
Well the r&g Website stated v2 was fairly easy 1 hr fit and now changed to level 5 2 hrs + after someone not me Complained The bolts are all different sizes so I have to measure each has anyone fitted these themselves to a v2
I looked at how complex it was and decided not to bother. I have case sliders instead and from what I hear, is probably advisable for track as apparently can cause all sorts of problems if they catch on something
Yeah, I've had a lot of people tell me not to run big sticking out mushrooms, as they are likely to just twist the frame. I agree that some low profile protection around covers and swingarm is a good move. So far I've got as far as covering my swingarm, bobbins in the fork bottoms and bar ends, and I have some track fairings to go on.
Did the fork bottoms too, but not the swingarm, I'll have to look into that one. On a side note, if you get case protection, I recommend R&G for the LHS. The GB racing ones mean moving the starter solenoid to act as a spacer, but if you happen to like GB Racing ones, I have a spare now going cheap. R&G one has a slider on it too which is a plus.
