I've got myself a stick on engine case just wondering if anybody else has fitted one? The reason for asking is I don't think I'm going to bother sticking it all the way around especially at the bottom where it would allow moisture to escape
You mean the carbon fibre one that covers the lower section? I had one on mine which I took off and replaced with the slightly larger slanted Ducati version. It was on there solid with tons of bloody adhesive and I would be amazed if moisture was even able to get in there! I guess it depends how well it's applied. Surely any moisture trapped in there would quickly disappear once the bike is up to running temp anyway?
I fitted the pair initially and used plenty of the adhesive they provide with it. No issues sticking it all the way around as I don't think moisture is an issue. I have since removed the small carbon fibre cover on the clutch side and fitted the full size plastic one they make. The generator side is still the CF job as only the bottom of the case is exposed through the hole in the fairing. I've not crashed this season but one of the other lads has and his held up well and did their job.
