Now Iv been thinking of these, but havent seen any on a bike to get a good idea of how the look, fit and whether they can end up looking like a badly fitter tank protector. Not to mention whether after awhile there gets lots of crude stuck around the edges that you cant clean properly. The pics of the sight look as though they dont fit flush completely against the tank/tail. So my question is has anyone got them or seen the personally, and if so, what is your verdict?
They look shit so unless your into poorly finished carbon I would spend your money elsewhere. On an 848 the edges are so poorly finished a Chinese copy would look like it was made by nasa. The icing on the cake is that it doesnt align symmetrically with the ducati logo. Stick-on crap thats probably useless in any crash.
I've got some of these peoples carbon, it's very nice stuff. They do tank protectors for the 1199 which have a much larger area of coverage carbonworld.de As for the level of protection they afford, probably not going to help out at much above walking pace but can't hurt I suppose
I think they look shite and probably wont help in an off, however I would seriously consider a decent set of crash bungs, I have seen a set of sato ones and they look good and no fairing drilling is required. Very expensice though, Im still looking for other options...
Thats exactly how they look, and yes they even cover over part of the name. Thanks for the link, the only kit Id like from there would be the wheels. Already bought all the carbon for it. Wouldnt mind the tank but then its a full carbon fairing after that and then it will never stop. Iv had to stop myself from buying more of it cos I dont know how much iv spent so far till I get home and go pick it up! Hey Ho.
Got all the protection on it already thats available, but looking for something to keep the sides/tank/tail off the ground. Pity they didnt build some ports or something into the engine to allow some bungs do go in in the absence of a frame. Had a look at that sight but, unless im not looking right, I can only see axle/spindle/bar end/cover protection and as said, I have it already.
