1299 Race Fairings

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by zxstu, Oct 1, 2016.

  1. Can anybody suggest the best place to buy track fairings for 1299s that fit well without to much trouble?

  2. CRC I'd imagine would be a safe bet

    Or DP

  3. The DP ones are a great fit, I got mine from motorapido on eBay but they are plain white.

  4. I bought some from there for a ZX6R I had, and the quality and fit was shocking. I know that track fairings are always pretty shocking, but these took the piss

  5. Sorry to hear that, have only bought decals from them as they did not have street fairings to my 1299. The local racing team here use these race fairings and are happy with the product though.

  6. The decals the kit came with were very good though
The fairings themselves were awful quality in comparison to the CRC fairings I've bought
There were holes and cracks that needed filling before paint, nothing fitted and I had to cut them about to make them even close to fitting

  7. Thanks for peoples advice,I have spoken to Snells about DP fairings and will be buying them in the next few weeks.

  8. +1 on the DP.

  9. The DP ones are the best fitting as they are exactly the same as stock bodywork but unpainted and include light blanks and electrical connectors. The downside is it takes ages to fit so not very practical if you need to change it regularly. It's especially good if you want to keep the bike road legal though. If you search my threads there's one on the DP fairings. If you're anywhere close to Snell / West London give us a pm and me and @Sam1199S can probably give you a hand with fitting if you need it.

Two mates of mine have just bought Panigale fairings from the italian site http://www.motoxpricambi.com/ElencoProdottiPerModello.asp?language=&Liv0=12 linked above and they said they were good value and well fitted. Maybe you had a dodgy set Graeme? The good thing about them is you can get the paint job done by them in either bargain or higher quality. My mate did say that the 'high quality' job was already coming off so maybe not so great quality on that side of things.

I much prefer the proper race fairings that have the sides in one piece. I fit them with dsus clips and I can have the complete nose and sides off in a couple of minutes. The DP fairings sides come off in ten or fifteen minutes but the nose will take you a lot longer.
