How many people running race shift on there bike/bikes?? i do find it better on on my track bike and thinking of doing my road bikes to , it's a pain switching from one to another, I was all over the place at donny with my r6 on the track .
I run a race shift on the road on the 1098R, only got it wrong once at the end of last year but only had 2 runs out I'll see how I go in the spring swapping from the R! and stroker
I run race shift on most of my bikes, I think the only one I didn’t bother with was the multi. I don’t think I could do a track day without a bike being in race shift.
Yeah it's hard swapping from one to the other, I'm going to have to change the 996 and r6 to race shift.
Once you go black you never go back... Oh shit, sorry wrong forum. Once you go race shift you never go back
I run race shift on the track bike and normal on the road bike but can ride with either now. Race shift is more natural and better suited to track use.
Race shift always. It’s easy enough to switch from one to the other. Only time I’ve ever gone the wrong way is when I’ve panicked due to fucking up a corner....
Must be the same forum my wife is on the mucky cow! I run race shift on my track R1 and race CB500. Normal pattern on the 1299 but I have considered changing it.
Race shift will make you irresistible to men, women and gender neutrals (i have to include the last one)
I've got those acculign rear sets on mine hopefully I can just change the gear link round, not sure the direct gear link will look right with those sets.
I've always preferred 'race' shift, probably because my first bike had it that way albeit on the right hand side but it just seems more logical to me. All my bikes are setup that way, had to get a bit inventive with the Guzzi due to it's convoluted linkage (although it can be done with internal gearbox changes) but Ducatis are easy to switch.
I have Acculigns on my 916, they were supplied without gear or brake pedal but I prefer a direct lever anyway, although you can simply 'flip' the small lever on the gearbox shaft which is what I had to do on the Monster as the distance/angle from gearshaft to footpeg didn't work very well. Here's mine; Not a great picture but works well and looks good IMHO.
