im going to be recommissioning the 916 after an extended lay off and wondered on your thoughts for tyre options. Ive used the Power Pures on my now sold MV F4 and they were the best tyres ive ever used. My mate swears by Racetecs. Does anyone have any experience or advice on the pros and cons of fitting the alternatives to the 916? Cheers folks.
I had K1 racetecs on my 996s and they were fantastic. Run SC2's on my 999R track back and have done for years and they are also fantastic..... Got pilot powers on my RS250 and they work a treat, even though they are blood old. Not much use really my post is it :frown:
Is there really anything demonstrably better than Pures for the road when you factor in price and wear? Until I'm convinced of the contrary...
Think they stopped making the pures and now do power supersport or power3 found pures to be very good tyre tho Richie
I have got the pures on my ST4S,I always feel like i am going to fall of the edge of a cliff when cornering on them,I have just lowered the pressures having read up about them, and really hope this works, and they take a good 20 minutes to warm up too.I do hammer the bike but I just don't understand why I cannot get on with them, maybe the ST is too heavy and torquey for their carcasses?
Doing a mix of track days and road use I have run all 3 and lean towards the Michelins just seem to get a few more miles out of them.
Racetecs for me. Always had them on my gsxr, soft front medium rear. I found I could spin the bridgestones up on the gsxr under hard acceleration but never had a moment with the racetecs on. I have had about 4 sets now i think. The ducati I just bought has pirrelli super corsa 3's on. Not had chance to test them yet but i would not be surprised if they are replaced with racetecs.
