Hello to everyone - just joined the forum, and will confess this is my first Ducati after wasting too many years just dreaming about one... Picked up a 1260 Grand Tour from those top people over in Manchester - and then almost immediately - bang, lockdown struck, so it took a while before the Wife and I could stretch the new bike's legs. Never thought my first post would be about leg stretching - but here goes... My lovely Lady hasn't got the longest pins in the world, and only after a few trips out she was mentioning that the seating position wasn't as comfortable as the Z1000SX that we'd just sold. Obviously I didn't believe her, suspecting she was just missing the old lime green 4-stroke sushi. But when I got off and saw where her legs and feet were - it all made sense - the rear pegs (for 'not very tall people') are fairly low and set quite far back. This means that only the back of her heel is on the peg, her calves rub against the front of the panniers and the seat cuts into her inner thighs after a few miles, so for miles of comfort - the rear pegs need to be higher and more forward. I bought the Multi so that we could do some touring together, so this costly revelation didn't go down too well, ahem. Spent months trolling the internet for an after market solution with no joy, except for some really cheap looking bolt on brackets from ebay Then, last week I discovered Slingshot Racing in California. They have a decent range of extended and adjustable replacement pegs - but didn't have one for the 1260S. Long story short - I took a stock one off the GT, fully measured and it turns out that the dimensions are almost identical to the pegs they sell for the 09-14 Monster 1100/1100S. Since this discovery, Slingshot have amended their website to dedicate this same peg to the Multi 1260/GT. Here is the link for anyone who has a pillion partner with similar challenges! https://www.slingshotracing.net/cat...60-grand-tour-adjustable-footpegs-p-1654.html Hopefully the pegs will arrive next week and I'll be able to confirm that they fit and do the job Just thought I'd post this as sometimes a problem shared is a problem solved
My mrs is 5’4” and she finds my ‘13 multistrada so much more comfortable than the Z1000SX that I too had before this one. I think it’s the fact I’m sat more upright and the back rest on the top box she likes, makes her feel less vulnerable and more relaxed which makes a better pillion for me too so win win all round.
Yeh, I'm sure that when the adjustable pegs arrive, and her feet are slightly higher and further forward (my Mrs is a perfectly rounded 5'0"), then she will definitely agree
Plenty of this sort of thing around. You just need to confirm sizing and quality I guess. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202262901825
Gilles adjustable footrests and adapter brackets did the job for my Mrs, same issue too far back and too low, not looked at your link but if they do the same as the Gilles kit then its money well spent
Yeh there's a plethora of stuff online, but virtually nothing that confirms a suitable fit for a 2017 onwards 1260, that was the challenge TBH as they were all pre 2017. Anyway, pegs arrive Friday so hopefully all will be well
